City Commissioners Appointed to the OC 2040 Project Advisory Team

Body
RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Select a primary and alternate member to fill the City Commissioner position on the OC 2040 Project Advisory Team.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As we begin the process of creating a community vision for Oregon City to guide the update of the City Comprehensive Plan, the City is committed to engaging the community early and often throughout the process using a variety of means. The project emphasizes engaging and including communities of color and others who have not been represented in the past. The first step is forming a Project Advisory Team that represents a range of interests and perspectives. The PAT will also help the City staff and consultants integrate a variety of fun and useful public engagement tools so that people can be involved where they live, work, learn and play.

BACKGROUND:
Interested Oregon City community members are invited to apply for a position on the Oregon City 2040 (OC2040) Comprehensive Plan Update Project Advisory Team (PAT). The PAT will help Oregon City craft a vision for how to approach development over the next 20 years and update our Comprehensive Plan to implement the vision and guide City decision making.

Future development, projects and plans must comply with the Comprehensive Plan, which makes this plan very important to reflect the aspirations of all community members. No technical knowledge is required other than a love for Oregon City and a willingness to solicit feedback and report back regularly to the group you represent.

The overall project will start by with significant public involvement to create a Community Vision.
