RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Motion for recommendation to the Commission for the selection and purchase or playground equipment for Park Place Park.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Playground equipment at Park Place Park is approximately 20 years old.  This is considered the average life span for playground equipment.  In 2017, this playground was heavily vandalized by fire.  Staff closed off and removed the damaged portions of the equipment at that time and has continued to allow the equipment to remain.

 

The replacement of this equipment is included in the current budget.  It is also listed on the “Deferred Maintenance” list.  Staff will be presenting the two options attached to the neighborhood association on January 20, 2020 for their recommendation.

 

OPTIONS:

•                     Move approval of the recommended playground equipment,

•                     Move approval of the non-recommended playground equipment,

•                     Move to not replace playground equipment at this time.
