Fee Adjustments for Camp Activities

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Motion for recommended approval of fee changes to the City Commission.
BACKGROUND:
This fee was last reviewed and approved by the City Commission on June 15, 2005. Since that time the costs of materials and labor has outstripped our annual allotted 3% fee increases. Because of the duration between adjustments, staff took a renewed look at both direct and in direct costs associated with the camps.
Staff also surveyed surround communities to determine the fees associated with like programming offered through the other park and recreation departments. The determination was that we are under charging according to both methodologies.
Staff is proposing a significant increase in program fees, the PRAC may want to phase the increases in over a two-year period to reduce the annual impact on our community families.
OPTIONS:
• Move approval for recommending fee increases to the City Commission in their entirety,
• Move approval for recommending fee increases to the City Commission fazed over a two-year period,
• Choose to continue with the current fee schedule.
