Appointment of Representatives to Library District Task Force Series of Meetings

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Approve the recommendation of representatives to the Library District Task Force; approve the recommendation of Larry Osborne to be back-up representative to Library District Advisory Committee

 

BACKGROUND:

This task force was commissioned by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to examine, discuss, and make recommendations on various issues facing the member libraries of the Clackamas County Library District.  The specific issues discussed will be finalized by the task force, but it is anticipated that  they  will include library services offered/needed in the District, sustainability and sufficiency of funding, and District governance review.  Key stakeholders engaged and involved in the process (e.g., City Managers, Library Directors, and Library Board members) are requested to attend these meetings as representatives. BCC has requested names of these representatives by December 1, 2019.

 

From Oregon City, City Manager Tony Konkol, Library Director Maureen Cole, and the Library Board recommend:

Tony Konkol, City Manager

Maureen Cole, Library Director

New Oregon City Library Director (name can be submitted later)

Wyatt Parno, Director, Finance

Mireya McIlveen, Deputy Director, Finance

Nick Dierckman, Library Board member and representative to Library District Advisory Committee

Larry Osborne, Library Board member

 

In addition, the Library Board requests that Larry Osborne be added as a back-up representative to the Library District Advisory Committee.
