Intergovernmental Agreement with Clackamas County for Building Division Assistance

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Approval of the proposed intergovernmental agreement.
BACKGROUND:
With the fluctuations in staff and construction activity in Oregon City and Clackamas County have experienced variations in demand for Building Inspection and Plan Review services. Staff believes a cost effective option to better serve the public would be to share experienced staff in order to serve our communities during a time of need. The City of Oregon City and Clackamas County have had a previous Intergovernmental Agreement in place that allows mutual aid to provide inspections or plans reviews as needed when either jurisdiction is experiencing staff shortages and / or heavy workloads.
This request is a renew of the previous agreement with a modification which allows certified County inspectors to inspect County facilities to determine if the building is safe for human occupancy in the event of a natural caused emergency.

Amount: $85.00 per inspection
