PG 19-04 Preservation Grant for window repair at 916 Washington Street

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff Recommends approval of the request.
BACKGROUND:
The applicant has requested a grant to fund improvements to a locally designated structure: the C.G. Huntley House. The proposal is for repair of 12 double-hung window sashes on six upper story windows facing Washington Street.
The applicant received grant funding in 2016 for repair of other windows in the house, and submitted multiple bids for that project. Now, the applicant wishes to use the same contractor that was selected in 2016, so has submitted only one bid.
The total cost estimate is $6,256. Staff recommends approval of the grant request for $1,000 now and recommends the Board provide up to $2,064 if funding is available as of June 30, 2020, the end of this year's grant cycle.
