BACKGROUND:
The 2019 - 2021 Goals and Priorities of the City Commission have identified under Goal 1 the need to determine how to proceed with the Urban Renewal Program in Oregon City through further discussion with the Urban Renewal Commission and public outreach/input. Staff has met with Commissioner McGriff to review information from the Portland Development Commission (Prosper Portland) concerning plan implementation and public outreach. With this information staff is preparing a stakeholder engagement process to review the Urban Renewal program and provide recommendations to the Urban Renewal Commission on how to move forward. Chair O'Donnell has requested an opportunity to preview, begin discussions and to formulate ideas on the direction that the stakeholder engagement process could take. Attached to this staff report is an email, dated August 8, 2019, from Chair O'Donnell outlining his initial thoughts for the process.
