Review of Library Policies

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Review and provide suggestions for each policy below

BACKGROUND:

Attached you will find the following revised policies:

1) Behavior Policy: you recently reviewed this in light of after hours meetings. We are bringing it back to you this time with regards to eating in the library. You will recall that the last policy referred to a designated eating place. We have decided this invites too much potential for multiple problems. We will still have to bring this back to you once the after-hours meeting arrangement gets completed. We'd like to have the policy in this format be approved now.

2) Community Room Policy: Due to multiple interactions with people, we realized that our policy is not complete enough nor specific enough. Therefore, we rearranged and reformatted to make the text more clear. We also added multiple  requirements regarding signage, ability to enforce library rules as well as park and City rules, and added information about what equipment is available. We'd like this policy to be approved by the Library Board and replace our existing policy.

3) Community Information and Bulletin Board Policy: We adapted this so that it would be in alignment with the Community Room Policy

4) Collaborative Partnership Policy: this is new but something we have been pondering for a long time. It grew out of people thinking we were there partners because they were using our space. Please take a look and provide your feedback.
