Title

Extension of Submerged and Submersible Land Lease with Oregon Department of State Lands

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Authorize the City Manager to execute a 15-year submerged and submersible land lease extension with the Oregon Department of State Lands for operation of commercial marina and moorage at Sportcraft Landing.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Oregon City entered into a 15-year submerged and submersible land lease in 2004 with the Oregon Department of State Lands to operate a commercial marina and moorage at Sportcraft Landing.  The current agreement expires this year and we are asking Commission to enter into a renewal agreement as attached.  The new agreement will expire on April 30, 2034.

The City has a sub-lease agreement with Sportcraft Landing Inc. for managing the marina and moorage.  Sportcraft Landing Inc. has been a staple of the Oregon City business community for decades and has held a license agreement with the City since 1970.  The sub-lease specifies that the fees paid by Oregon City to the Oregon Department of State Lands will be reimbursed by the sub-lessee.  As such, the annual rental fee of $2,878.13 will be paid by Sportcraft Landing Inc.

There is no budgetary impact associated with approving this contract.
