BACKGROUND:
In August, there is the possibility that we don't need to meet. However, in order to get Library Board feedback on the Library Director recruitment, there needs to be input before September, 2019. At this point, we were hoping to get feedback from the library board, staff, the library foundation, and friends of the libray in July/August so that this feedback can help shape the remainder of the recruitment process. It is thought that the notice of recruitment will go out in September and be open for at least 3 weeks.
A starting point for discussion to the question 'What do you want to see in the next library director" can be started by looking at a list of things the next library director will have to deal with, depending on what happens between now and January 2020. That document is attached.
I suggest that if you want to skip August's meeting, we have this discussion in July if there is enough time. Otherwise, I think we will have to meet in August.
