BACKGROUND:

Please see attached memorandum.

 

The City Commission adopted a variety of code amendments including provisions to allow temporary mobile food carts in the Mixed-Use Downtown District.  In addition, the City Commission identified a few issues to continue to explore, including whether permanent food carts (identified in the Municipal Code as non-transitory mobile food carts) should also be allowed in the Mixed-Use Downtown District. The purpose of the attached memorandum is to provide additional background on this topic to help guide the discussion.
