Title

Resolution No. 19-28, Replacing Resolution No. 19-07 Adjusting Alarm System User Permit Fees to Become More Consistent within the Region.

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Move to adopt Resolution No. 19-28, Replacing Resolution No. 19-07 Adjusting Alarm System User Permit Fees to Become More Consistent within the Region.

BACKGROUND:

On May 1, 2019 Resolution No. 19-07 was approved by the Commission. Section 2 of that Resolution is being revised to include possible inflationary rate increases within the three-year period of the contract with PM AM Corporation (PMAM). This Resolution is exactly the same as the prior Resolution with the exception of the added phrase, “…account for inflation in an amount not to exceed 3 percent, so long as the primary objective of adherence with the alarm system program is not adversely impacted.”  The purpose of the Resolution is to amend the current Resolution and establish updated fees. On February 6, 2019, the City entered into a contract with PMAM to operate the alarm program. Adoption of this Resolution would adjust alarm permit fees to become more consistent with the permit fee scale within the region of surrounding jurisdictions who have also contracted with PMAM.

BUDGET IMPACT:

Amount:  Revenue increases are anticipated due to enrollment of non-compliant customers.

FY(s): 2019 forward
