Title

State Library review of Oregon Library Association Standards for Public Libraries

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

review and discuss

BACKGROUND:

The State Library asked that each public library director complete the Oregon Library Standards Survey. The survey will be used to report on the State Library's Key Performance Measure #6: Public libraries meeting applicable OLA standards. This information will be shared with the Oregon Legislature as part of the State Library's annual Key Measurement Performance Reporting.

KPM #6 has been defined as
the percentage of Oregon public libraries meeting essential and enhanced level of applicable Oregon Library Association Standards for a Public Library, where “applicable OLA Standards” have been identified as the Staff, Materials, Programs & Services, and Technology Standards from the Public Library Division's 2018 Standards for Public Libraries. This is a good tool to use for undertanding how our library is meeting these Standards. Although this is not all of the Standards, these are the prmiary ones.
