Title

Enterprise Resource Planning System Implementation

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

No action required by the Commission.

BACKGROUND:

The City’s previous software system, Eden, had been utilized by multiple City departments, including Finance, Payroll/Human Resources, Utility Customer Service, Planning, Building and Engineering since the 1980s.  It had become antiquated and is no longer upgraded by the software provider.  City Commission Goal 5, Maintain Fiscal Health & Long Term Stability for the 2017-2019 biennium includes implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.

In July of 2017, the City Commission authorized execution of a contract with Tyler Technologies, Inc. for a new ERP System, to include software, training, implementation and migration services.  The implementation of Tyler’s Incode/EnerGov solution began soon after and spanned most of the 2018 calendar year.  With the migration complete, and the implementation team working on final system enhancements, staff would like to provide the City Commission with an overview of the project.
