Title

Resolution No. 19-10, Adopting Updated Public Works Water Distribution System Design Standards

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Approval of Resolution No. 19-10 to adopt updated Public Works Water Distribution Design Standards to replace those from June 16, 1993.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Oregon City adopted Public Works Water Distribution Design Standards in 1993.

This update provides changes to bring the design standards up to current day construction practices and standards. The update also provides changes to bring the design standards consistent with changes to the standard drawings which have been revised continually over the past several years.

These revisions were made by review of development engineering staff, operations and maintenance staff, and construction inspections staff. Standards were also reviewed from other agencies including the City of Hillsboro and the Oregon Health Authority. City of Oregon City standards were developed using existing information and adding information found from other agencies.

The revisions have been announced to the majority of consultants and contractors that do business with the City, and a review of these revisions were made before the Development Stakeholders Group.

The revisions were presented to the City Commission in a Work Session on April 9, 2019.
