May is Preservation Month
To spotlight grassroots preservation efforts in America, the National Trust for Historic Preservation created Preservation Month to be celebrated in May.
Oregon City, joining hundreds of thousands of people throughout the country celebrating the places that are meaningful to them, has the following events planned:
? Awarding the Ruth McBride Powers Preservation Award
May 1, 7 p.m. City Commission Meeting, City Hall, 625 Center Street
? Archaeological Discoveries - New and Old**
May 30, 7 p.m., Midway Pub, 1003 7th Street, Oregon City
An Oregon Parks and Recreation Department archaeologist will provide an archaeological overview of some discoveries in Oregon and revisit a few known archaeological sites.
? Municipal Elevator and McLoughlin Promenade Tours
Thursday, May 9, Time TBD
Saturday, May 11, 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Tours are limited to 20 per group.

In a Library not so far away…we’re celebrating Star Wars Day! Drop in for an evening of free activities, games, and prizes for kids of all ages. Costumes highly recommended.
The Library will be closing at 4 p.m. to set up for the program.
