RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff recommends that Commission support the continued efforts by the City and our partners to market and bring needed infrastructure and investment to develop the Beavercreek Employment Area.

BACKGROUND:
Goal 1: Cultivate an Environment for Successful Economic Development
Beavercreek Employment Area
* Identify additional funding opportunities to provided needed infrastructure to serve this
area.
* Continue partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, Clackamas Community College
and Clackamas County Business and Economic Development to continue the marketing
and development initiative efforts to bring investment and employment opportunities to
this area.

The Beavercreek Employment Area is approximately 86 acres next to Clackamas Community College that are designated as employment lands, which are anticipated to create 1,650 family-wage jobs with an estimated payroll of more than $124 million. The Beavercreek Employment Area is a partnership between the City of Oregon City, Clackamas Community College, Clackamas County and the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce. There are four core values that have been identified by the Partners: Economic development; Workforce training; Lifelong learning; and Quality of life.

The Oregon City Economic Development Department and Beavercreek Employment Area Steering Committee created the Beavercreek Employment Area “Putting Education to Work” campaign to promote the education and training resources at Clackamas Community College, including the new Industrial Technical Center, to attract business and industry to Oregon City (www.beavercreekemploymentarea.com/). The Steering Committee is engaged in promoting the Beavercreek Employment Area as a desirable place to do business and highlights the training opportunities and workforce that is available through the Community College training courses and the existing community.
