RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff will provide an overview of the requests and the projects which we believe may be achieved in the 2019-2121 biennium and support a discussion by the City Commission.
BACKGROUND:
Planning Commission and Natural Resources Committee Requests
In the 2019-2021 goal setting and associated budgeting process, the City Commission will prioritize solutions and resources to meet the variety of needs for the community. In addition to the projects identified by the City Commission and staff, the Planning Commission and Natural Resources Committee have also identified additional opportunities. After additional discussion, the committees refined their requests into the items identified below. Please see the attached staff memorandum addressing the requests.
Planning Commission
1. Comprehensive Plan Update (Including Affordable Housing Strategies)
2. Simplify Process and Clarify Standards for Short Term Rentals
3. Revise Tree Regulations (Within City and Prior to Annexation)
4. Rezoning Manufactured Home Parks
Natural Resources Committee
1. $300/Year for Arborist Review of Heritage Trees
2. Updating Wetland/Stream Inventory
3. Educational Campaign to Highlight the Geologic Significance of the Bluff
4. Revise Arborist Requirements (With City-Wide Tree Regulation Review)
