RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Staff will provide an update on the status of the new Police and Court Facility and support a discussion by the City Commission on the proposed goal.

 

BACKGROUND:

Goal 2: Address Critical Facility Needs

Police and Court Facility

* Complete the final design and begin construction of the new Police and Court Facility.

 

This goal is on track for completion.  The Police Department has hired a design team, a technical advisor, a project manager, and a construction company.  With input from employees and the community, the design team has completed Schematic Design. 

 

The Police Chief is currently working with this team to adjust the design to meet our budget and the community expectations of the project.  The current plan is to break ground on the new facility in the fall of 2019.
