Body
RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff recommends the City Commission adopt Resolution No. 18-45, naming Tyrone S. Woods Memorial Park.

BACKGROUND:
Per City policy for naming or changing names of parks, an ad-hoc naming committee was created including the Parks and Recreation Director, two members of PRAC and the staff liaison to the CIC. Sub-committee members include Community Services Director Phil Lewis, PRAC member Shawn Dachtler, PRAC member Mike Mitchell, and Senior Planner/CIC Staff Liaison Christina Robertson-Gardiner. Committee members also identified additional members to be added to the committee including a representative of the Caufield Neighborhood Association and a representative of the City Commission. Tori Skipper was selected by the neighborhood association to serve as their representative and Commissioner Brian Shaw was selected to serve as a representative of the City Commission.

· Tyrone S. Woods Memorial Park
· Wacheno Park
· Waldo Caufield Memorial Park

During the months of August and September, 8,572 public votes were received. Naming committee members met for a third and final meeting on October 10, 2018 to review the votes and make a decision on a formal recommendation to the Parks and Recr...
