BACKGROUND:
Every year, a report is due to the State Library of Oregon by October 1. These reports must be provided by each public library in Oregon. The reports are collated and saved and presented on a web page suported at the State Library web site so that libraries can track themselves and compare themselves to other library. This report and the Oregon Library Association Standards drive much of our statistics gathering throughout the year. This report also will be used to supply a great deal of information to the Library District Annual Report which will also be due at about the same time each year, once we get into a regular routine with the new format. The State Library is doing its best to connect to the Standards so that these tools become seamless and complementary.
