Title

Personal Services Agreement with Murraysmith for the Engineering Services for the High Street Waterline Replacement Project

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Authorize the City Manager to execute a Personal Services Agreement with Murraysmith for design and construction administration of the High Street Waterline Replacement Project (CI 17-012).

BACKGROUND:

In November 2017, Public Works staff met to discuss 2018 Pavement Maintenance Utility Funded (PMUF) construction projects.  The PMUF projects include a roadway reconstruction project on High Street from South 2nd Street to 3rd Street.  The waterlines in this section of High Street and several side streets that cross this section of High Street have a history of main breaks and include the old standard of lead-sealed joints which need replacement due to age and deteriorating pipe conditions.  There is also a pressure reducing valve on 3rd Street that needs to be upgraded.  City staff met with representatives of Murraysmith to develop a scope of work and construction schedule for the High Street Waterline Replacement Project.  Once the waterline has been replaced, the roadway will be reconstructed as a separate project.

BUDGET IMPACT:
