Park Special Event and Shelter Rate Discussion

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff recommend Commission review and discuss the proposed park special event rates.
BACKGROUND:
The number of special event requests have increased over the past few years and with the additional request have come additional complexities in providing the services required by the public. Oregon CIty Parks are used for daily activities, birthday parties, camps, reunions, company picnics, car shows, community celebrations and other special events. Staff are requesting adjustments to the special events rates to better prepare and properly maintain the park grounds, restrooms, and garbage both before and after events.
The proposed park special event rates will bring Oregon City more in line with comparable cities and more accurately reflect the time and resources needed to provide services to our park guests. No changes are proposed for typical shelter reservations that are not considered special events.
