Title

Resolution No. 17-30, Establishing Annual Inflationary Adjustments to Storm Drainage Rates

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Move to adopt Resolution No. 17-30, A Resolution Establishing Annual Inflationary Adjustments to the Rates Charged for Storm Drainage Services

BACKGROUND:

Oregon City Muncipal Code Section 13.16.050 establishes the setting of storm drainage rates by City Commission resolution.  Resolution No. 12-18 was adopted in June of 2012 to establish inflationary adjustments to the rates, but with an expiration date of January 1, 2017.  The current City Commission has routinely expressed the desire to adjust rates annually for the effects of inflation so as not to unnecessarily burden customers with unpredictable rate increases.  This resolution would require routine annual inflationary rate increases for storm drainage in an amount not to exceed three percent.  It supports City Commission Goal 5, Maintain Fiscal Health & Long Term Stability.

BUDGET IMPACT:

Amount:  Approximately $81,000 in annual revenue to the Stormwater Fund

FY(s):  2018 forward

Funding Source:  Storm drainage service charges
