HRB Goals and Workplan

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
The Board may discuss goals and workplan for 2018. This is also the time to give staff guidance regarding the Certified Local Grant application due in February.
BACKGROUND:
The last time the HRB set goals and a workplan was in early 2016. The 2015-2016 Goals are attached to the agenda.
Last month, the Board discussed potential preservation month activities and programs, SHPO seminars, tabling at the First City Celebration, and resurrecting the historic resources packet for use by realtors.
Certified Local Government grant applications are due February 23. CLG grants can be used for inventories, educational programs, national register nominations, rehabilitation of properties listed on the National Register, trainings and conferences for staff and commissioners, and other activities. The grant guidelines are attached to this agenda. A one to one match is required, and the maximum request is $12,500. The City has budgeted $10,000 this biennium for a grant match.
Non-programmatic goals that the Board may want to consider include updating the HRB policies on topics such as solar panels, fiberglass windows, fences and any other items identified by the Board.
