Grant Request PG 17-06 : Porch Repair at 402 John Adams Home (John R Jr and Martha Trembath House) in the McLoughlin Conservation District

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion): Approval of PG 17-06, a $1,000.00 grant to replace and repair porch elements at the home located at 402 John Adams St. (John R Jr and Martha Trembath ).

 

 

BACKGROUND: The Oregon City Historic Review Board’s renovation grant program makes funds available to property owners of Locally Designated historic buildings desiring to make exterior rehabilitation or renovation improvements; structural improvements to preserve the integrity of the structure may also qualify. The conditions of this program require that all improvements and projects be in keeping with the architectural integrity of the structure.

 

The applicant is seeking grant approval to replace materials on the front porch and steps of the John R Jr and Martha Trembath house. This work would include replacing the decking and stairs, and repairing decorative elements. The applicant proposes tongue in groove materials to match the existing, and paint to match the existing color.
