Personal Services Agreement Amendment No. 1 with GRI for the Public Works Operations Center Geotechnical Investigation (PS 17-005)

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Personal Services Agreement (PSA) in the amount of $65,000.00 with GRI to provide professional services necessary for the Public Works Operations Center Geotechnical Analysis.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department has been working diligently to update the Operations Center Master Plan over the last year. As part of the master planning process, the City contracted with GRI to perform a geotechnical analysis.  GRI will now be performing additional geotechnical services in the amount of $65,000.00

 

These additional services include:

                     Subsurface explorations to include up to three geophysical profiles and a resistivity survey,

                     Three sonic borings to be drilled to provide additional subsurface information,

                     Laboratory testing to provide data on physical characteristics of subsoils,

                     Additional engineering and analyses to further evaluate slope stability and services to provide lateral earth pressure parameters,

                     Inclinometer installation and initial reading (optional task), and

                     Meetings and post-report consultation.

 

The original contract entered into on May 1, 2017, was for the amount of $59,900.00 which brings the total amount, with this Amendment, to $124,900.00.  In addition, the contract date will be extended from the original expiration date of October 31, 2017 to December 31, 2017 to allow for these additional services.
