Amendment to Interim Agreement for Rediscover the Falls

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff recommends the City Commission approve the amendment to the interim agreement for Rediscover the Falls, a nonprofit which supports the Willamette Falls Legacy Project.
BACKGROUND:
The success of the Willamette Falls Legacy Project requires significant public and private support. Rediscover the Falls (RTF), a nonprofit group assists in advocacy, outreach, and fundraising for the Willamette Falls Legacy Project; namely, for the riverwalk.
Metro, Oregon City, and RTF are parties to an Interim Agreement effective October 27, 2016, which provided grant funding to RTF to help launch RTF as a volunteer support group for the Willamette Falls Legacy Project, which project will, among other things, create public open space and a pedestrian parkway on the former site of the Blue Heron Paper Mill in Oregon City to provide the public unobstructed views of the Willamette River and Willamette Falls.
The proposed amendment will update and extend the agreement. The agreement identifies $50,000 of support from Oregon City to support RTF over the current biennium which has been previously budgeted.
