Title

Resolution No. 17-21, Modifying the Parks Capital Facilities Improvement Plan by Adding Acquiring and Developing Property for Park Operations Facilities

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Adopt Resolution No. 17-21, modifying the Parks Capital Facilities Improvement Plan by adding acquiring and developing property for park operations facilities.

BACKGROUND:

The City’s parks capital facilities’ improvements are identified in the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan of 1999 along with Trails Master Plan of 2004 and Parks and Recreation Master Plan update of 2008, all of which are ancillary documents to the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan.

Park Operations Staff currently work out of an undersized facility with approximately 25,000 square feet of site space.  The adoption of proposed Resolution No. 17-21 would provide acquisition of one acre of property and associated development.

The City’s list of park capital improvements may be modified “at any time” pursuant to ORS 223.309(2). The expansion of park operations facilities is necessary to provide an appropriate level of service to a growing community.

Proposed Resolution 17-21 provides appropriate park operations facilities' improvements that are consistent with the adopted CIP list and goals for park operations facilities.

BUDGET IMPACT:

Amount:   $900,000
