Title

Support for the Public Works Master Plan

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Staff is requesting the NRC's support of the Public Works Master Plan concept.

BACKGROUND:

On August 26, 2016 NRC members attended a very informative guided site tour of the Public Works Operations Center with Martin Montalvo, Public Works Operations Manager and John Lewis, Public Works Director.

Public Works staff has made prior presentations to the NRC regarding the re-development of the Public Works Operations Center Master Plan site. The current concept plan responds to the City's significant past efforts to inventory, preserve and protect trees and the natural environment, conduct habitat assessment, and ongoing efforts to downsize onsite fueling, noise impacts, and building designs that fit the character of the area.  Based on these efforts, the project once built will be a significant win for Oregon City’s natural environment.

As the planning process continues from concept to a more formalized plan, staff would like to keep the NRC members up-to-date on the process.

We will discuss the site tour and circulate a draft letter of support for the planning process.
