Title

Natural Resources Committee Tour of Clackamas Cove with Cascade Environmental Group, LLC

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Meet at 6:30 to tour Clackamas Cove with John Runyon.

BACKGROUND:

John Runyon, a watershed ecologist with Cascade Environmental Group, will be leading a tour of the Clackamas Cove site. Cascade Environmental Group is under contract with the City to conduct an Environmental Feasibility Study for Clackamette Cove.

The feasibility study will identify potential and feasible projects that would improve water quality and establish habitat restoration in and around Clackamette Cove. Mr. Runyon gave a presentation to the  NRC about the study at the regular meeting on July 13, 2016.

This tour will be open to the public. The tour will meet at the parking lot adjacent to the Clackamas River Trailhead near the Cove on Main Street at 6:30 p.m. and will last approximately two hours. Due to ongoing grading and site preparation activities associated with the Cove redevelopment project, the tour will be limited to sites that are publicly accessible. Participants are advised to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for uneven ground.
