Title

Kancler Consulting, LLC Contract Amendment for Government Relations Services

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 3 to the Personal Services Agreement in the amount of $25,000 for Kancler Consulting LLC.

BACKGROUND:

In accordance with City and State intermediate bidding procedures, in May of 2014, the City requested proposals from three government relations service specialists (lobbyists) to be proponents for the City's interests at the Oregon legislature on both the right-of-way ordinance and to help secure state funding for the Willamette Falls Legacy Project.  The City received two proposals and selected Kancler Consulting LLC as its preferred consultant.

The City entered into a contract with Kancler Consulting LLC (Kancler) in the amount of $24,000 on June 30, 2014.  Since that time, the City and Kancler have executed two more amendments totaling $35,500 and extended the contract expiration date to July 31, 2016.

The City wishes to continue utilizing the services of Kancler and has drafted the attached Amendment No. 3 in the amount of $25,000 extending the contract expiration date to June 30, 2017.  Because the total contract amount has exceeded $50,000, it is being presented to the City Commission for award because the total contract amount exceeds the signing threshold afforded department directors and the City Manager.
