Oregon Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Public Assistance Infrastructure Contract (DR-4258-OR)

Body

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):

Authorize the City of Oregon City to enter into an agreement with Oregon Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to receive Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance Funds for the damages to Public Infrastructure associated with the December, 2015 Disaster Declaration.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this agreement is to allow the City of Oregon City to receive funds from the Oregon Office of Emergency Management for damages sustained during the December 2015 Presidentially Declared Disaster Event (DR-2458-OR). Public Assistance funds allocated for presidentially declared events are administered from the federal government to the respective state agencies. Local jurisdictions that are included within the assistance grant, must enter into agreements with their respective state agencies to function as sub-grantees. This agreement allows the City recoup 75% of the expenses it incurred as a result of the declared event as well as allow the City to receive additional funds to make necessary repairs and improvements.
