Friends of the Library/Oregon City Library Foundation relationship to the Library Board

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Move to establish documented relationship with Library support groups
BACKGROUND:
In a fundraising workshop attended by members of the boards of the Friends of the Library and the Oregon City Library Foundation, board members were advised to formalize their relationships to each other for purposes of coordination, collaboration and the assurance that all library support groups are pointed in the same direction as the Library. Board members met to discuss this idea. At this time, it was noted that there should also be a documented agreement to communicate with the Library Board on a regular basis. Library staff encourages communication between all support groups so that all on focused on the same goals and vision. It is recommended that a liaison both the Friends and the Foundation attend Library Board meetings and report on a regular basis.
