Body
RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
information only
BACKGROUND:
The progress of the building project is going well. The foundations went in successfully and the concrete walls are going up. The forms for the steel supports are formed; rooms on the ground floor are starting to take shape a bit. Inside of the Carnegie, in the basement, the ramp into the back storage area is complete and the walls around the elevator room have been built. The crew did some exploratory work in the intersection of John Adams and 7th but found that utilities were not located where they had been indicated, so more engineering work needs to be done. This portion of work requires night work and cannot be completed until the engineering is complete. Therefore, they may start doing some work in Jefferson where a water pipe must be moved. This can go on during the day. The project is within 3 days of being on schedule and the good weather is helping. Noise in the library has been loud but intermittent and tolerable.
