RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff recommends the Commission approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 15-1004.
BACKGROUND:
The first reading of Chapter 9.12.010: Disturbing the Peace and enacting of Chapter 9.12.020; Disturbing the Peace, was approved by the Commission on May 6th, 2015. Chapter 9.12.010 of the Oregon City Municipal Code is vague in the definition of acceptable level of noise. The proposed Chapter 9.12.020 is enacted to protect, preserve, and promote the health, safety, welfare, peace and quiet of the citizens of Oregon City through the reduction, control, and prevention of loud and raucous noise, or any noise which unreasonably disturbs, injures, or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace, or safety, or causes public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm to reasonable persons of ordinary sensitivity.
