BACKGROUND:
The Library Addition Project has entered into the formal review phase. This involves two concurrent processes: review with the Historic Review Board and review with Land Use in the Community Development Department of the City of Oregon City. The first review meeting is Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at City Hall with the Historic Review Board. Project architects will represent the project.

The Land Use side of the review process takes more time. Planners for the City will respond to the submittal in about 30 days, or no later than the end of February.

The Building Committee continues to meet every other week. A recent topic has been about seismic upgrades to the Carnegie. In order to better understand the magnitude of cost and effort involved in retrofitting the Carnegie building with seismic improvements which would fully meet current code, engineers are being consulted.

Energy Trust of Oregon met with a full panel of consultants about energy use for the project. HVAC, solar and all mechanical systems were discussed. Elin Shepard of Energy Trust is confirming which grants the project may be eligible for.

The Project will present to the Transportation Advisory Committee on February 17, 2015. TAC requested more time to review the Transportation Impact Survey, which was recently revised.

The Library Director and Parks staff connected to discuss moving forward with playground equipment. The McLoughlin Neighborhood Association and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will be consulted.
