Body
RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Move to authorize the City Manager to execute the Personal Services Agreement with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. to perform engineering development review services for a total not to exceed amount of $160,000.

BACKGROUND:
In October 2005, City staff recommended and the City Commission agreed to contract with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. to supplement the Public Works Department's staffing needs for engineering development review services following a reduction in staffing.  The City Commission agreed to an extension of the original contract with the current extension expiring on October 6, 2012.  The Development Services Division of the Public Works Department has had no staffing increases and continues to need supplemental staffing.

Kennedy/Jenks has been selected to continue performing the development review services as they have done since 2005 based on their extensive experience, qualifications and professional expertise.  Kennedy/Jenks' familiarity with the City's Planning code and Engineering standards allows them to immediately take on the Public Works portion of development review for private work beginning with the Planning pre-application meeting and progressing to final walk-through of the completed private infrastructure project.  To date, Kennedy/Jenks has performed quality work in a timely manner with 100% of the work product deliveries completed on time.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Amount: $160,000
FY9s):  2012/2013 and 2013/2014
