Award Rivercrest Restroom - Design Build Contract to Emerick Construction Co.

RECOMMENDED ACTION (Motion):
Staff recommends the City Commission approve the Design Build Contract for the Rivercrest Restroom project to Emerick Construction Co. in the amount of $299,000.
BACKGROUND:
A Request for Proposals was advertised on November 6, 2012. On December 4, 2012, five contractors responded with proposals for the project. An evaluation committee reviewed and scored the proposals. This design build RFP process is a best value concept versus a low bid RFP process. Emerick Construction Co. ranked highest overall and was unanimously selected by the review committee. Their proposal was deemed responsive and responsible and has been recommended for the contract award. Emerick Construction Co.'s proposal cost is within our anticipated budget and timeline for completion.
The Rivercrest Restroom project will initiate in January and is anticipated to be completed by the end of May 2013. The project is supported by a grant partner and budgeted Park SDC funds.
